  • Enjoyed listening to this as I ran some errands this morning. I’m also a quilter who is new to cross stitch. I had the same thought about investing in a lot of stuff. Although, I said that about quilting too….twenty quilting years ago, LOL!!! I did buy a small kit (one color) that used a “fancy floss” hand-dyed silk thread. Ooh, so pretty and lovely to work with but I don’ think I’ll stock a bunch of them anytime soon. I will also say that I was recently making up a kit for a trip and discovered that DMC has variegated floss too . Am going to try substituting one of the “called for” colors with it and see if that can be a way to mimic fancy floss color variations. Lastly, I also have design boards made with Hot Glue but saw the Heat and Bond tutorial and hope to try it . Look forward to hearing your experience with it!
