In this episode, I chat about the upcoming Hand Pieced quilt along, a free motion quilting class, a new British show I’m loving, and how to organize your grocery list.

Great podcast-its like catching up with a friend. I have watched the movie and read (listened) to Bernadette and, as usual, the book was better than the movie. I encourage you to get the audiobook though-the narration really adds to the funny and poignant parts. I loved the casting of the movie. Still plugging away at the hand piecing….

Grocery shopping: We use the Our Groceries app on our phones because we can share the list so anyone in the family can add to the list and if more than one of us is doing the shopping we can also take things off the list. It is SO handy!
Sanditon was filmed in Somerset which is further north and east than Cornwall. It got mixed reviews in the UK and I don’t think that there is going to be a second series.
Love listening to your podcasts while I stitch on my quilting projects. I also am enjoying Sanditon and hope their will be a second season. I like your system of the index cards inside the cabinet. Could your post a picture of that?
Hi Kristin, I am a little behind on my podcast listening so I just finished this episode. I wanted to comment before I forget. 🙂
First, I love your podcast! I always look forward to listening to it and even though I am behind right now with my podcasts (I am not sure why but I took a break from listening to podcasts in January) I have two or three favorites that I always go to first. Yours is on that list!
I hate to ask this but what is the name of the person that teaches the goal method that you are trying? You mentioned that you write your goals as if you have already accomplished them and you do this day after day until you have met them. I would like to check that out.
Next, I also want to lose weight this year. I won’t go into the long boring story of how I gained (actually regained) my weight after 25 years, but I am having health problems and really need to lose about 35 lbs this year. So if you start something on the facebook group I would definitely like to participate.
As for your comment about quilt labeling, I try to label all my quilts. I make personal labels for most gift quilts but for my other quilts (charity quilts, etc) I bought some of the labels you mentioned . I bought 50 from Etsy and it is just like a clothing label. It says Handmade by Cyndi Clifton on the front and I just sew it into the binding. I write the year on the back. They were inexpensive and ready to go when you are. I also put them on t-shirt quilts and other commissioned quilts I might make.
I love to read but since I started sewing/ quilting I usually listen to my books. If you like quilt fiction you should try the Elm Creek Quilt series. I was so sad after hearing the last book that I actually caught myself wondering what the characters are doing! I know, crazy! I just felt like I knew all the characters and then they were taken away. I was so sad and if you tell anyone I said that I will deny deny deny. :))
Anyway, keep up the great work! We love and appreciate all you do for the quilting community! I now I am ready to listen to episode 43!
Hugs,
Cyndi @quiltingnursechic
