  • Not sure on which episode that you mentioned “Call the Midwife” and the fact that it wasn’t always the happiest of series although true to life but I I I thought that I’d better forewarn you about the last series. I don’t know what number it is but at the end of the previous series Barbara and the vicar get married in the last episode. When you get to that if you don’t like sad episodes I would miss out the next series because it had me on tears on more than one occasion and one episode sobbing. It finished here(Scotland) about February/March so it’s probably available now or just about to be.
Thanks for the podcast. I enjoy listening to it.

  • I listened to your podcasts on a road trip yesterday. I enjoyed them very much. I grew up in Norway, so your comments on your daughter’s upcoming semester in Norway and the knitting was interesting. Yes, I grew up in knitted woolen sweaters and so did everyone else in my school. There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.

The design for Selbuvotter (Selbu mittens) comes from Selbu in Norway. It is possibly they know who the original designer is, but I would have to research that.

I do enjoy quilting. I tried it three decades ago, doing machine piecing and hand quilting. Then life and work, plus a non-functioning sewing machine resulted in a hiatus. With a new sewing machine for Christmas, I picked it up again a little over a year ago and I am having a lot of fun exploring the various techniques. I love FMQ, but also the piecing.

    • Thanks so much for your delightful comment! I’ve heard the saying, “There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing”, but I have to admit, it’s hard to relate to in California! I’m so glad to hear that you have rediscovered a love of quilting! Welcome back to the club!
