quilts

Finished Boy 2’s quilt last month.  Let me just say- not my color palette- but he loves it.

It is an Elizabeth Hartman free pattern called Wonky Canasta.  The fabric was a custom bundle from Fabricworm.  It is a very fast and easy pattern, only my fear of quilting it slowed me down.  I eventually went with minimal straight-line quilting.  It was my first time quilting a bed-sized quilt, and after cramming it into my sewing machine, I’ll be glad to head back to lap-sized quilts!

But not quite yet, as I still have Boy 1’s quilt to finish.  Here is the quilt top, same pattern, but a more subdued color palette, also a bundle from Fabricworm.

Next up is to piece the back.  The top came together very quickly, due to being familiar with the pattern and the motivation that comes with starting a new project.  I am always surprised how much I get done when I actually sit down and spend some time at the machine!
